1,2,3 Strikes You're Out

D*** IT!!!!!!

Today was without a doubt the most trying day of my young trout fishing career (as if I'm getting paid for this).

Think of ANYTHING that can go wrong in a day of fishing, and I experienced it today.

Could have been fishing by 11:30 BUT get down 2.5 miles of the 5 mile snow covered forest service road and find a HUGE tree across the road. No way around and no way over. Had to drive the 2.5 miles in reverse due to nowhere to turn around in the snow.

Figured I'd shrug it off and hit a DH and catch some numbers! You know, those dumb stocked fish. Turns out the dummy was me. All pull-offs were snow covered, but being the genius I am, I decided my car could do it. WRONG. Stuck like a dumbass. Luckily after about 30 minutes a good samaritan pulled me out.

That's 2 strikes.

Drive to a well known spot and FINALLY get to fishing around 2 (after planning on fishing at 12ish). First cast, total clusterf**k. I don't know if what I was doing could be called fishing, more like flailing. SKUNK.

If you saw me on the river today, this picture sums me up....sad CLOWN

Ready for warm weather and accessible roads.....

Enough ranting. Even though today sucked a**, my friend asked me, "Why do you do that to yourself?" My answer, "Because you have to be in it to win it!"

We'll get em next time....

Shake it off! This crap happens to all of us!Rather now with the weather the way it is, refine the technique so when your peering over a large boulder somewhere up near the parkway and a 12" brookie is gorging himself, you wont F it up!
Good times ahead brother!
