Appalachian Slam

I fished some wild water today. I was hoping for some more rains and I was going to go to some larger water and toss streamers. It stayed mostly dryish, so I changed my plans and was rewarded. Almost all fish came on nymphs.

Very cool! As much as I have fished I cannot think of a stream I have fished that held all 3 in close enough proximity to get all of them in one trip. At least without driving. Not that I am complaining it just seems to be only 2 per stream for me.

No big secret but, fish Cataloochee between Palmer Creek and Rough Fork, you can do it in three casts.

John,
How did Saturday work out or was this the decision for Saturday?

Rip, Saturday was tough. The water wasn't high, but it was real dirty. I'd say visibility was about 8 inches. I caught a few sunfish and had one LDR on a 4-inch bass. I'll have to go back when the conditions are a little better. I just fished the rocks above the bridge. Did not have time to explore further upstream.

Get some of that chartruse garlic dye I metioned for the soft plastics for when the water has that kind of dinge to it. You can get it at Wally World pretty cheap. That river does that alot, you almost have to treat it like a trout stream when its like that and put the lure right on top of where you think a fish may be, hit em in the head with it. A buzz bait will sometimes turn the day around when the water is like that. We will schedule a day for that water soon, I need to make up some days with downwiththebrowns13, thecoonis, twmiller, and Flytiger anyway, we can all hit it together. Maybe in a couple of weeks when things settle down here on the homefront. Keep a Sunday afternoon free.
Take Care,
Riparian

I can only wonder at where you are talking about here. D*&% all this rain and cool weather, it's killing the smallmouth bite.

I almost forgot that we need to get you in on the trip too. Give me a few weeks and we will organize this thing.
