While my hip has been on the mend and when I have not been giving grief to the "powers to be" on the Smith River generation controversy I have found time to do a bit of reading.

Those of you that read or watched the movie "The Perfect Storm" may recall that the sister ship of the Andrea Gail was the Hanna Borden captained by a female by the name of Linda Greenlaw.

She has gone on to become a NY Best Sellers List author on sea going tales of commercial fishing. Currently has 3 best sellers out and I find them to be very interesting and easy reads. (about 200 pages each)

They should be in your local library (My wife works in one and gets them for me from there). Titles are:

The Hungry Ocean: A Swordboat Capitan's Journey

All Fisherman Are Liars: Tales From the Dry Dock Bar

The Lobster Chronicles

Pretty much page turners. I joke with my wife "well I think I will cuddle up with Linda for a few moments' and she sighs and says, "in your dreams"!

I've read Hungry Ocean and Fishermen are Liars....

Whole family listened to The Hungry Ocean Audio Book. I forgot about all of the Sailor Talk....when warning my seven year old daughter about the language, she replied, "What bad language, I didn't hear any bad language.....OH! you mean like that!". "Yes, like that," I said after the narrator finished reading the part where the crew had just lost a fight with a giant of a swordfish.
