Beaverdam 9/5

Smallmouthfever and I went up to the Beaverdam Sat morning for a few hours, I started out with a Madam X and a BHPT dropper, we started in the same area that he was recently visited by a furry "friend" and worked up stream for a couple hours. We both caught several smaller wild fish like these.

That mostly came on the dropper out of places like these

Managed a few better ones, that all came on the Madam, one of the most beautiful wild browns Ive ever caught

This deep run was a fun one, had a REAL nice brown swipe at the Madam on the second or third drift, then about five or six drifts later we believe it was him who tried for it again and I missed the hookset on him but evidently this bow was going for the dropper at the exact same time because I got a good hook up on him.

Smallmouthfever has more pics on his camera (probably better) maybe he'll add a few more.

Hooked into this on one drift, based on the proximity to the road I would guess that sometime last year he made a nice dent in someone's car.

And the remnants of one of Smallmouthfever's furry "friends"

I have to differ a little on Rodney's account of the big brown-little rainbow story. I'm almost positive he hooked the big brown, because the fish I saw thrashing around after the hook set was far bigger than the little fella he brought to net. I think while big brown was wallowing right under the surface trying to figure out why his lunch had given him such a bad toothache, little rainbow was lurking below trying to get his timing right on the dropper. When he did I think he pulled the hook on big brown. It was like a magic trick...big brown is wallowing around and we're exclaiming what a big fish he is, then he takes off down stream and goes behind a rock. Rodney wades out a little and frees him only to discover that he has changed into a little rainbow...There's no way the fish I saw at the start of the fight was the one that came to hand. I'll add pics later today.
