Hard to pick just one. So I won't.

These are my picks.

1: Trout Rigs and Methods by Dave Hughes. i very good book describing reading of water and different rigs needed to fish the water.

2: Dry Fly Fishing by Dave Hughes Very good excellant book and reasonable in price.

3: Dry Flies - New Angles by Gary LaFontaine an excellant work for the angler who wants to really advance his knowledge of how trout look at and respond to dry flies and also one of the better writtings on the theory of attraction.

If I buy one it is #2 I did for ToonGal.

Presentation by Gary Borger gets my vote as the best overall fly fishing instruction book. I'd read it before any other book.

You'll have a hard time getting a copy though. Even used copies are in high demand due to word of mouth on how good the book is. Your best bet is to check your library.
