Black Stone Fly..1\2 of Grand-Tandem
* * This pattern started out as a pattern I would swear by, the Kaufmann Stonefly. I use to buy them, but could never get them small enough, so I started tying them myself, then started fooling around with tips I picked up here and there. Now it is part of what I call the "Grand-Tandem - this fly tied with a dropper, that on here will remain nameless, that was introduced to me by my good friend "Mr. Mcginty" who happens to be the best fisherman I know. This has giving me quite a few slams, hence the name "Grand-Tandem". The browns seem to love this fly, and the brooks and rainbows go for the dropper everytime!
* * Hook : Mustad 94840, Size 14.
* * Thread : 6/0 Black.
* * Tail : Goose biots
* * Body : Black dubbing.
* * Wingcase : Mylar glued to black foam.
* * Legs : 15LB mono.
* * Antennae : 8LB mono.
* * Fairly simple!
