Blue line Wester NC Saturday, 07-12-08 w/ video

Fished a blue line in western NC Saturday and did excellent. Got a late start around 11:00 and fished until 2:00. Worked pocket water and one large pool. Large considering most of the water was ankle deep.

Only used one type of fly, #18 EHC. Lost several flies to the trees looking for the squirrels fish, but never did find him. Tight casting to say the least and strong winds made the day interesting.

The trailhead started downstream and several hikers were splashing their way upstream so I had to fish down stream. No trail downstream and with cover heavy I had to fish my way through the stream. Gave me chance to learn how to cast with slack in the line fishing dry flies downstream.

I put together a video of a few fish. Fishing and videoing at the same time is not a talent I possess. The fish were released ASAP and the video is not good, but is all I have.

Dennis
