I had a chance to hit up the DH section of the Chattooga today. I was in Walhalla for a family get-together and managed to cut out early and fish from about 3-5. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of action waiting there for me. I started at the bridge and worked my way up to the main campground; I mostly nymphed...w/o any hits. I caught one small rainbow, not really worth taking a picture of, but that's about it. No complaints from me; it was nice just to get out there
Also, the water was nice and high; it's probably running twice as high as I'm used to, and it wasn't muddy from run-off. Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks I'll have a chance to spend a longer day there, but I'm happy with what I got today.
