Dads 'N' Kids Review

This is what we woke up to every morning and were lulled to sleep with every night:

And everybody loves a campfire on which to burn .....ummmm.......things:

Big camp chairs for big boys:

And little camp chairs for little girls:

A break is a nice treat after all the busy-ness at the campsite:

But, in the end, it's about Dads and their kids. It's about this:

God bless all the fathers (and grandfathers) who took the time to make this weekend so special for all the kids.

More takes and thanks later. These are just a few special moments that I wanted to share with all of you.

Looks like a great time. Maybe in another year or two when my daughter is just a little bit older...

Kids and Dads Group Trip

It's a fantastic time and one that's not to be missed. Outside of wanting to see their mother, my kids hated to leave. Here's why...

Emily's first trout...

Country Girls Rock!

Even the dads got into the action. Here's a nice rainbow JB caught...

Here's the "tip" I got for guiding Wyatt. Priceless...

And finally, we can't forget the Helton Creek Mountaineers, guided on their expedition this year by the McStreamer boys...

It was great spending time with old friends and meeting new ones. All my thanks go out to Jule and Bob for putting it together...they deserve a long round of applause.

Best,
Chris/wvyou

What a great Weekend.... BIG Thanks to Jule for helping keep this thing going and making it run so smooth. Thanks to all the Dad's and GrandDads who took time to spend a weekend in the out doors with thier kids. Big kids, little kids, lots of getting wet and dirty kids, doing the things kids used to do before Nintendo and Spongebob.

To say the Kids had a blast, is an understatement.

Thanks to Dutch Boy and BKatz for the excellent Spaghetti Friday. Thanks to Aaron for the Awesome Barbecue. A true labor of love for this man, and you can tell by the taste... Good Stuff

Thanks to Jason and Jason for all the breakfast eats and snacky stuff enough sugar to fill the back of a dump truck

Carter Thanks for going above and beyond brother... above and beyond.... Big load of fire wood, and absolutely incredible eats... dove, duck, venison, goose, stuffed wrapped and grilled.... RIGHTEOUS !!!

Thanks to everyone who pitched in and helped with clean up.
Big Thanks to FFNC and his dad, and Disco for helpin with the final cleanup and getting things put away before the rain hit

Thanks to the McStreamers, Devin, Adam, Nathaniel, Stephen, Demi ,Ally and a few others who helped keep the trash picked up around camp. Great job guys and gals.

The weather was great. A bit cold Friday night. Saturday not quite as bad. Fishing was so/so though I think most caught fish.

I will try and put a video together here in a week or so, I have been proimised some other pics to add to my collection and will try to make this one a keeper.

Here are a few teaser shots for ya'll

digging in the creek

Good Campfires thx again Carter

AWESOME snacks

Larry Mo and Shemp ( you had to be there)

Corn hole championships round 5,231

we want you at kids and dad's next year...

Good times like the ones had this past weekend come way to far apart and never last long enough. And before your know it, our kids will grow up, as they all eventually do. But the wonderful memories of the good times shared and the friendships made from the Kids and Dads trips will live forever in all our hearts.

For me the best reward came on the way home " Thanks for such a great weekend Dad, I love you"

See ya'll next year.......

I came for the whole thing this year and I am glad I did. What a weekend. I talked Lauren into fishing most of Fri afternoon. Well I fished she walked around in the water, and netted a couple fish for me.

One on a Streamer special.

And my net buddy!

Kids at work....

And dads at. well...

Great campfires!

My fish of the trip, I appreciate Colin leaving me one in HIS hole.

Kids playing.

We were not the only ones with kids this weekend.

Dads playing.

Lier's bench, guess they did not get enough at L&T!

Parting shot. Thanks for stepping in Kim.

Jule and Bob, thanks a million for the priceless memories of a lifetime. Carter, thanks for the dead stuff; wow was that tasty. Thanks to all of you for coming up and pitching in to make this such a great time. Even you Baker, nice talking to you. I already have another one scheduled to come with me next year. I'll be chaseing two around. I know have too many guys I want to fish with and not enough time to fish! Gonna have to make some of those trips happen this summer. There are always a few quotes that stick out. I'll leave you with possible the quote of the trip.

"Ben, I'll be your corn hole mentor." And the realization that you can't say anything while playing corn hole without it coming out sounding just wrong.

Another outstanding trip! Thanks to Bob and Jule for all your hard work in putting this trip together. Trey and Sarah Chason had a great time and are already looking forward to next year.

I hate I missed Carter's "Smorgasboard of Game", but my stomach issues wouldn't allow for it.

I noticed there are no close up shots of Carter. Good call.

I hate Ty and I had to miss it.

Dads and Kids Review

What a weekend..

Got thier friday and set up camp
Greeted alot of people
Fished the stretch of creek right below the camp most of the time
Crawdads were caught (even some babies)
Had some great spaghetti
Saturday we went fishin with Disco, none of us caught much and everyone except disco left, and he proceeded to catch fish til dusk
Had some amazing barbeque from Aaron
Roasted Smarshmellows and all that
Played some fun cornhole with some fun people
Sunday we packed and headed to a big bend pool. No one really caught many fish, but when i was fishing a section below the pool i spooked a brown trout whose side was as wide as my hand. 10 minutes later came back to the hole with a flashdancer and one of bob's flashdancers (he gave me some good advice on trying to catch him). This fish rose to my fly 4 times (and each time i nearly peed my pants), and struck twice (both of which i missed). The fish was probably 20+ inches

Had a bunch of fun this weekend and Thanks to all the folks who helped out with it.

Thanks most of all to my dad!

Colin

Here are some pictures...

Thanks again, Colin

We had a great time this year, just as we have in the past two years. Again, the comraderie was super and it's always enjoyable sitting around the fire at night getting to know folks just a little bit better. My kids had a wonderful time playing with your kids. Emily caught a bug Saturday afternoon and "tuffed" it out. Nathaniel was wide open the entire trip. He didn't care to fish until Sunday morning and then only fished for about 15 minutes.

Special thanks to Bob and Jule for strawbossin' this event. Thank you for your time and energy, and thanks for hosting one of the funnest times of the year.

Thanks to those who provided the spaghetti and fixins on Friday night -- wonderful!
Thanks to Aaron for some fine BBQ and fixens ---- it was a labor of love we all enjoyed.
Thanks to Carter for the unusual appetizers --- don't believe I've ever eaten anything so good creekside. It was fantastic. The firewood was appreciated by all.
Thanks to Troy for reminding me.
Thanks Bob for the use of your pump.
Thanks to Ben for the sweet pattern! Lots of fish were caught on it.

Thanks to everyone who was there. It's good to see you guys and watch you having so much fun with your children. Look forward to seeing you all next year.

Greg
