Don't ask, don't tell policy
One of the most contentious issues we get on this list is when someone asks for the names of our favorite streams, or starts listing stream names. This is especially true of wild and native trout steams.
Folks are a little less sensitive about naming the larger and more commonly known streams in our parks and forests but even there some restraint is recommended. On the other hand many folks think that naming the stocked and DH streams helps by taking some of the pressure off the wild and native streams.
When posting a report on the board we suggest that you give a little thought to the above and use a little discretion before posting the name of the stream. Often just telling folks the general location, stream temperature, type of insects hatching, and what flies the fish were taking can be just as useful without naming the stream.
If you're really stuck for a stream to fish in a certain area, send one of our members who lives in that area an email. Most folks here would happily agree to take you along on one of their fishing trips. And don't overlook the Hook Ups section of the board--Thanks
