Re: East fork Pigeon River

Gofisher,

Get her to one when you can. The crew told me there is one in so KY near the TN line this summer. If she is up to it send her. A also have a sister-in-law in the middle of treatment and a near dear family friend here in the pine in the same way.

Illama-dude, yes the warm fuzzy fealings are there and great too. It was the first day in a month that i had free to fish and i went and did this. Better than a day of fishing.

There is another Retreat this August on the Green River. The dates are August 19 - 21 with fishing the 21th. Star Nolan of Borrkside Guides, Asheville will be looking for help with the guiding.

She will accept donations for the retreat as the participants do not pay for the retreat. The Southeastern Council FFF as well as numerous TU chapters in NC financially support the Casting for Recovery program.

East fork Pigeon River

I had the pleasure of volunteering as a guide on the east fork of the Pigeon River delayed harvest above Lake Logan.

The Casting for recovery gruop had a weekend retreat for women recovering from breast cancer. *Sunday morning myself and several others volunteered as guides and fished a section of the river with a client that had never fly fished.

My client caught 2 brookies and one rainbow.

The cost I gave up a day got up at 6 am and drove 2 hours to get there and then hurried home for my daughter's birthday dinner.

The benifits were smiles on the successful catching and the blessings from my wife and newly shorn *:o daughter (12 inches of hair donated to wig making for those in treatment for cancer) were priceless. :) :)

Fish came to female adams parachutes size 16

Irish, that is a great cause and hits close to home. My wife went through breast cancer treatment a couple years ago. I tried to get her to go to one of the Casting for recovery sessions, but it was a little too much for her at the time. Thank you for your time and considerations to such a worthy project. Gordie
