Exploring new wild waters photo journal.

I've been making an effort to get out and explore new waters lately. Fished a stream today in WNC off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of rainbows and an occasional brown. I had one fish on that I am almost sure was a brookie, but it flopped off before I could bring it in for closer inspection. I could have fished upstream a little further and got into true brookie country, but I forgot to bring water with me and had to turn back after a few hours of fishing and head for the car. I did get one surprisingly large brown trout and had a rainbow on of equal size, but the rainbow succeeded in rubbing my 6X tippett on a rock and busting me off. Most fish were 6-8 inchers. All in all a lot of fun - here are some photos.

Oh yeah, I found a car key to a Volkswagon and a Nokia AT&T cell phone, but they both looked like they had been lost a long time ago.

Those are great,
Especially that brown, he is healthy

Is that some of the water I suggested or did you strike out on your own and find gold?

I was just reviewing your post and photos...
In the first photo w the caddis...It looks as if you are a using a loop connector to your dry? How does that work? What advantages with this connection method.
THANKS!!

That brownie is a pretty beast! Great pics, Dixie, but there really aren't many trout around the Parkway.

Headgear, I started tying that knot thanks to some good advice from Riparian.
It is similar to a Rapala knot. I'm still getting used to tying it and it slows me down a bit for now until I get the hang or it a little better.
