Other than that, it won't make much difference to me.

The Watauga is never not crowded just so you know.

Week days are usually less boats-- but watch the schedule good. TVA is running hard during the week now. Lakes are full.
800-238-2264 Prompt 4 then 42 for Wilbur Dam[ Watauga ] or 01 for S. Holston.

I reckon you are familiar with the section we are trying to float. I have never floated it but wadded that caddis riffle when the campground was open. I saw plenty of people floating it with no generation and really cant recall how it looks when generating. In you opinion is it better to float without generation? Or does it gets dangerous when there is generation?
Thanks,
Cheers...

Float the Watagua with no generation.

How soon can we set up our tents? I think last year, I got a bit of lunch in Mt. City, and then stopped off on Whitetop for a couple of hours before heading on in. If I get my TN license, though, I may just want to fish that good looking section of the Beaverdam that I've had to just drive by a dozen times....
I'm wide open to suggestions. I definitely want to fish with Phil one day, but frankly, I don't know my way around the TN waters, so I'll have to tag along with someone who knows where they're going.

Paul, I can definitely be at Shadyvaley around 10:00 am or I can just drive to the put in. It is a 4 miles float so depending on how fast we do it we can be back by 7ish. It is around 45 minutes drive from pff to the put in. Depending on how you feel. It is a very short drive for me. I can float or fish somewhere else. You let me know. I know is a long drive for you.

Thanks Kim! I rafted the watauga close to the dam if I recall right. It was kinda fast, but there was sections with very active trout. Of course, it was in the evening and it was raining. I will keep an eye in the generation.

I called the generation number and the recording says they are generating with e generators from midnight to midnight. 24 hours of generation? Do that makes sense?

Does this mean the SoHo won't be fishable/floatable either?
