flytyer on the smith

Larry T and i snuck out to the Smith last week on a bluebird day - He usuually gives caching lessons and pbj sandwiches with equal gusto.
After an unusually slow am - found some feeding fish on bwo emergers -handed off a size 24 bwo parachute to larry and he immediatly hooked up. many fish later for both of us and catching both on top and some just under the surface we both retired for the afternoon. Beautiful fish - great water - good friends- a lot to be thankful for -Baxter

This little size 20 bwo dry was responsible for a lot of sore jaws - streamside prices --- PRICELESS !!!!

Baxter,

It's great to see you post. I hope you are doing well. The same goes for Larry. Have you acquired any new boo lately?

TC

Don't know if this post will work or not. It has been a long time since I have tried to post. This fly is tied on a size 20 hook. The wings are tan poly yarn, same as i used when tying the smith river bandit, tan tail. the body is olive dun thread (no dubbing). The hackle is silver badger dyed olive. This was a fly i had in my box for quite some time. I cut the wings down some on the stream to try and make a smaller fly to match what i saw working the top of the water. Hope Baxter can figure out posting those pictures..
