Ga brookie report: "Lost Red Chair" creek

Fished a blueliner today with Merganser off ngto. Met at 7 at Bass Pro and then headed to Lost Red Chair creek to check it out and see if we could snag a few fish in the process. Hit the trailhead and the walk in was pretty easy. The hike out was uphill all the way. We walked down below the barrier falls and snagged a couple of small rainbows and then worked our way back up to the brookie water. I ended up catching a really nice sized brookie out of this one really deep hole below a waterall (not the barrier fall though) on a copper john and plenty of split shot. After that it was the typical small stream fishing with holes and brookies in the deepest ones. Bow and arrow casting was the name of the game most of the day and a couple of brookies were pulled out of places with 6 inches to "cast" through. Eventually got off the water around 3:00 where the water temp was 62 degrees. Overall the fishing was great with plenty of sites and non-fish critters along the way.

Is it a snail shell or....

a milipeed!

big fish of the day!

And a lost red chair found pretty far away from a campsite

That was probably my favorite Brookie stream when I lived in N. GA, nice to see some great pictures of it.

Nice day, and nice brookie. Haven't been to that one in a while, it may be time for a return trip.
