Give me something to tie

Im about to leave work and make the drive home where I will assume the posistion at the vice untill the sun comes up just as I do every night (unless Im fishing the next day, and sometimes even when I have to leave before sun up to fish) Im not that committed...Im an insomniac.

Was I awake, have I been sleeping?

So with that said... Ive been cranking them out every night this week and I have visions of stoneflys, midges, pheasant tails, serendipities, and dirty DH flies dancing in my head.

I need something else to tie. Preferably a nymph pattern as its winter and I wore out all my hackle this summer and need to go buy some.

Your suggestions are appreciated as Im having "tyers block" and cant think of any pattern that (forget needing it on the water) would be just fun to tie at the moment.

Thanks,
Riparian

How about a nice, big daddy long legs pattern. That ought to keep you busy.....and I think it would actually catch some fish. I used to use them as bait when I was a kid and it always worked like a charm.

I love tying little zebra midges in multiple colors. Don't know why, just do.

I also like to tie a mix between a zebra and a PT nymph. It's flashier and sparser than a normal PT but bushier and less flashy than a plain zebra. I still tie with the "legs" and small tails of a PT...Just something to mess around with...I conjured this hybrid up as I was T.U.I. and found it the next day...

Start tying Clyde style soft hackles, or flymphs.
