Hit the water again today. Had to make it to a test review this morning then made the executive decision to ditch English class. Just had to fish before the weather rolled back in.
Today was good. Landed one decent bow, and it made it even sweeter that it was the first trout I've ever caught on a fly I tied myself. It was a really intricate and challenging pattern, just had to wrap a little thread around a hook

. It was a midge if you didn't catch that. Anyways, I thought it was awesome, and it made my day. Had two other bites. Fished for the same HOG for about 2 hours and finally got him to eat it, and I CHUMPED it!

The other people on the river knew exactly how I felt about it. Hook came unglued very quickly. To add insult to injury, he felt it necessary to jump twice right in front of me to show me just how big he truly was. Fought the other fish for a few minutes and never could quite get him to the net. Just when I thought I had him, the hook came zinging past my head. Bummer. Oh well, it's fishing not catching. We'll get em next time!
With just the one fish, I feel it necessary to include a pic of the release; just so the thread doesn't look so bare
