Nice report. I got my first taste of Redfish this summer and am hooked as well. I think of it more like spring gobbler with the waiting and watching then the darn bird or fish is right in front of you. Like going from 0-60 in seconds

It can be tough with reds. If you hook them around the jaw it's going to stay. Hook em in the mouth lining and maybe. They change direction after long runs and have violent head shakes. They are such muscular brutes. I have had days where I have hooked and fought 5-6 reds and gone home without a picture. I hooked two Saturday but lost both, so no post. But those days of bounty exist as well.

Oh I am addicted.. I am even talking about buying a skiff, for carp here in the foothills and then for reds... Nothing fancy but something for skinny water. This was only my second time, but I assure you it won't be the last. It was a killer adrenaline rush.

Your right, they smash the fly like it owes them something and the run was like nothing else. I would say its more addicting than bonefishing.... Something about tailing reds in the grass, its like no other.

And Fly_In_VA you are right on the Turkey hunting comparison... 0-60 baby... Hearing a gobbler answer yards from you makes your hair stand up.

Hearing those tails splashing just out of site reminded me of that gobbler. Might be that I like spring gobbler better then freezing my rear off in the deer woods

I love both, I am just as pumped when each season comes around. Although freezing sucks, its more about being out there than anything.
