Re: Interesting Catch on the Green

He's got plenty of brothers around, too. I think the Green has to be one of the snakiest rivers around. A few years back, I was fishing with a couple of buddies, on the Green. One killed a big water snake and he put in in the trail and we hid, waiting for the other guy to return. We got to see some fancy dance steps, but got called some nasty names. ;D You definately need to watch where you are walking, when fishing the Green. There are some big rattlers and copperheads up there. I've seen quite a few while fishing and bowhunting.

Re: Interesting Catch on the Green

I agree with chickenman. *The green is deffinitely the snakiest river I have been on. *I have spent a lot of time there with my white water canoe as well. *Many folks have had banded water snakes fall out of the trees into their canoes. *I have seen plenty of copper heads as well. *There are some very brave (or intoxicated) tubers in that river during the summer! *;D

Re: Interesting Catch on the Green

I once climbed up to a pool in the SNP only to come face-to-face with a Northern Water Snake with a Brookie in its jaws. One of the most interesting things I have ever seen although I have heard for years the snake is the heaviest predator of Brook Trout in the Park.
