You have a couple of different options back there ..... you staying at the homestead or camping for starters ?

In a cabin, the river runs through the land.

Are you going to be fishing the tailwaters or the headwaters of the jackson river?

Re: Jackson River in Bath County VA

Below the dam there is fishing available ..... tailwater type

there is a special reg section 1.7 miles above hidden valley area. It runs for about 4 miles or so through there before it turns back in to a normal put and take section but there is good fishing all through the section.
Take a bike park at the hidden valley parking area and bike up to the special reg section starting at the swinging bridge ..... good fishing above that for a couple of miles

If ya need exact directions let me know

Fishing has been good using light cahills and royal wulffs in 14. Also be ready in case there are any caddis still buzzing around down there. There may be some yellow sallies out by then too--Larry

I believe Warm Springs (the Bath County seat) is about 50-60 miles of mountain road from the Lexington-Buena Vista area. The section of the Maury River between Lexington and Buena Vista is good smallmouth water and suitable for floating or wading.
