At the Table Rock T.U. banquet last night some of us were wondering how it went out there.
We couldn't imagine sitting around a fire pit in this weather with no fire!
Let's hear the stories and see some pics folks!

Just a teaser -- I'm too tired to do much else.

Friday -- backed my car into a tree getting into my cabin. Big dent and scrapes on the fender. Met Overbrook a few minutes later in the KOA checkin store. They had already banned him. PHG finally arrived and got Overbrook unbanned.

Overbrook and I finally went fishing close to the cabins to wet a line. I immediately slipped on a leaf-covered rock and broke my brand new Orvis reel. Went back to the campsite pissed about the broken reel and got stung by a yellowjacket.

Not a good start. I met Billres, though, which was a high point. He did drip sardine juice all over my new Z-Gravity rod, but that was fine with me.

My wife Beth's chili and sweet cornbread improved things Friday evening. Then it got COLD.

Then somebody (I ain't tellin who) brought in a jar of local Cherokee Stomp in a paper bag. It all went downhill from there....

PHG's hot breakfast of sausage, eggs, grits, (and beth's leftover chili) hit the spot Saturday morning in 20-something degree weather. Then we all went our separate ways to fish.

Later...

Saturday evening -- Stolen turkeys, breaking and entering, 1 a.m. flytying classes in Smoky's and Overbrook's cabin, a massive bull elk and two cow elk in the field, fried turkey from pcole, and NO CAMPFIRES allowed.
But, wait -- I'm mixing up the days and nights.

Wild brookies, browns, and rainbows, (one picture of a wild fish below taken with a lousy camera)), skunks, and pigs on the DH waters.

Great fun and great company. A good strawboss. All in all, splendid.

Coming back to discover we had been robbed by turkey thieves...in broad daylight....but the witnesses were'nt talking!
