Leaving family before daylight Thursday
going to see friends.
Fishing Nanty with Overbrook's rendition of
a Chezh nymph , absolutely fantastic , fish
after fish after fish . Thanks Tom
Yep , spilling sardine juice on Phil's new rod,
gotta give him credit he never flinched.
Meeting pcole Fri. afternoon and fishing new
water , he knows what to use
The hazards of chili for dinner then chili for
breakfast before chinching up a set of waders
Five fish in five minutes then spending the next
four hours trying to figure out what the heck
they were hitting .
Watching pcole pull at least half a dozen big
browns from the same hole , thanks Paul for
a memorable day
Crawling through a window to steal a turkey ,
Overbrook and Smokey never learned to tell time
Just Judy telling Flychamps to quit talking
and come on .
Planning a retirement trip with ZZ
Excellent turkey and taters , Paul ya might want
to fetch another pot somewhere , I figure your
number might be called again
PHG , a hearty thanks for putting this together
wonderful time .
Leaving before daylight Sunday morning
and watching the sun rise over the mountains ,
black giving way to gray then pink and thinking ,
instead of visiting friends , I had been visiting
family. This extended group of minstrels , fish bums ,
fish mongers et.al. were truely a family of sorts.
Can't wait untill the next reunion .

As usual Bill is right on and these events are like a family reunion. I was glad to see all and look forward to our next event, which I believe will be lyin' and tyin' in February.
I don't have a lot to add to Judy's post 'cause she covered most of the high points. I caught fish - did I mention that I caught fish. Saturday afternoon as the sun left the Nantahala Judy told me that it was time to leave and I told here to give me a couple of more minutes - in the 15 minutes I took I caught 7 more. It don't get no better'n that!
Good friends, good fishin', good food and good 'shine. Yep, it don't get no better'n that. |

You certainly didn't bother me, and I didn't hear anyone else in our group mention it Friday night or Saturday morning. Sorry that happened to you guys. What a bummer.

Gregg, I never heard anything from up your way.
BTW Judy was not happy with how the KOA handled several issues and I doubt she will ever go back. We also need to look at another site for next year.

Gregg...Smokey and I were in a cottage right by the office...and we never heard a peep...and if we did it was coming from us!.....I did'nt like being "locked out" either....they knew we were a group....and Iwas sharing a Cabin with Smokey....but since Smokey made the reservations and was'nt there yet...they did not want to let me on the grounds to go back and meet up with the group and unload some of the "community goods" ....I liked the cabin...thought the campground would be a great place to take my kids.....but did'nt care for the management myself! I think your right...if you guys were kicked out for noise....you were certainly "targeted"....I'm not sure where you guys were...but if they could have heard you in the office...we would have heard you as well......sorry ya guys got ran out.....thats  ! |

Greg, I knew about where y'all were, but I never heard anything from that end. Frankly, I was a bit surprised. I had expected to hear a little commotion (only in the best taste, of course.)
The campground is under new management, though, and that has brought around a few changes. The one that is bothering us the most is the closing of all the bath houses, except for the one up front. Even where we were, it was still a 1/4 mile hike.
We enjoy our little Smoky Mt. outing, but we too may have to consider another site.
