Left Behinds Signup

OK, the Fall Show is over, and it's time to get this show on the road.

Date: Nov 9-11, 2007

The setup will be similar to previous years. We will stay, at the Cherokee KOA on Big Bend Road and using their Kamping Kabins. If we do this right, we should be able to reserve a cluster of buildings which will give us a common area between the kabins for our mess and campfires.

If we can get the number of participants fairly quickly, PCole's wife can get us a 10% group discount, so let's get started. Each individual will be responsible for reserving their own kabin or kampsite, but you can cut your expenses by doubling up. The one room kabin can accomodate 2 or 3 people, the 2-room kabin can handle 4 or 5.

2007 Rates (subject to change, etc., etc.):
1-room Kabin: $99.56
1-room Kabin on the river: $121.56
2-rook Kabin: $121.56
2-room kabin on the river: $143.56

RV's, travel trailers, pop-up or even tents are welcome. The chances are you can get a site fairly near our central area. If you want to bring your RV, it runs $40 to $60/night, depending on hookup.

Motels in town have off-season rates as well, and may offer a slightly better (and more civilized) deal.

In addition, if we pool resources to cook 2 group suppers and 2 breakfast's, we can do that for less than $20/person (we will calculate the actual cost later.)

Any questions post them here and we'll get an answer.

Note: When you make your reservation, be sure to tell them that you are with the SEFFF group.
If they don't seem to understand, tell them it's the fly fishing group.

I talked to Phg via PM. He said that the standards for participants are pretty low. Henheheh.
If an old guitar player would be welcome, I'm there with waders on. Bradley's Fork, Straight Fork, Luftee, maybe Nanty? November? Sleep in a cabin? Oh, yes.

Glad to have you onboard, Phil. Late arrivals can be accommodated very easily at the KOA. See you in Nov.

Well, I actually made it to the Fall Show, but I'm still planning on going to the Left Behinds. Is that ok? If so, please sign me up.

Koa

Is KOA aware of the group? Just wondering what I should ask for when I make reservations for a tent spot (ie. Sout East FlyFIshing group, Left Behinds group, etc..) so that I can be close to the group of Kabins.

We are working on that with our inside contact. There is usually not much problem changing your location inside the campground, though. They will have less than 25% occupancy that time of year.
