Long time no see!

Well, going back to school has officially taken up about all of my time. I am finally free for the winter season. Fortunately, it only took me about three missed strikes until I could remember the timing. Still hooking tress like I used to though .... I went up near the blue ridge parkway yesterday and attempted to get some wild ones. Nothing really wanted to bite anything until about 10am when the water warmed up a bit, but it was a good time. Still using my version of the Royal Trude. Began the day with a dropper, but I did not really need to use it at all; they were hitting on top fine.

Most of the fish decided that my foot made a good hole for them to hide in. I was sitting down when I released this brookie, and it decided to swim under my boot. When I uncovered it for this picture, it decided to swim backwards to get under my boot again. I just sat there for a while watching him swim.

Brookies were not the only ones to take cover under my boot. I guess the water was too cold to make them scurry off in a hurry.

A good day of fishing was the best Christmas present I could ever been given. Good times! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

That brookie is a pure specimen of natures beauty at its best.
