misty hallows eve hike in trout'n...

woke up to an all day drizzle forecast on saturday and decided it was perfect weather to take a hike to some local water that I had checked out early in the spring, and promised myself I would return to this fall..
the hike in is pretty long so there was alot more hiking than fishing, but the scenery was well worth it, and I did manage to catch a handfull of dinks, and one nice little scrapper..
the water was at least twice the level of the pitiful trickle that I saw on my last visit and that in itself made me feel good...
all in all it was a good day in the woods...

It looks like a nice piece of water!

I am finding myself hiking more and more to reach small fish But I'll take the smaller wild fish, and scenery any day. I just got back from one such stream. I'll try to post some video I took and a report in the next day or two. The water was definitely up today. I went high trying and the water was still amazingly high. A good 6"+ over normal flow. It sure is good to see water back in the streams. I have given up on getting a good weekend with out rain for camping. I am just going to go.

Thanks for sharing!

That last shot/hole looks amazing. I definately love hiking in to spots like that. Thanks for the pics.

Nice pics. I also prefer the smaller, wild streams. The typical smaller fish do not bother me. I like the solitude. Almost always have the stream to myself.

I agree about that last shot, like something out of a dream.
Very nice.
