My wife and I were watching the evening news last evening and saw the following report.

That is the newspaper account. On the TV, when they said his Name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, my heart skipped several beats. There on the side of his bass boat was painted the boat's name - "Visitation." I asked my wife, do you think it could be Carl Jordan. There is this joke among us preachers that if we own a boat, we should name it "Visitation." Then if someone fusses about trying to call us and couldn't get us, all we would have to say is, "I was real busy that day. I spent the whole day out on visitation!"

Well, sure enough, I was right. It was Carl. He and I served as Chaplain's for the Spartenburg County Sheriffs Office for almost 5 years.

I sure will miss him. Please be in prayer for his wife Iris and the rest of the family.

That's sad. I know it's instinct to do all you can, but he should have had a throwable life preserver within reach. I'm glad to see that at least the little girl had learned to swim. My 6-year old granddaughter doesn't know....
