Playing in Pisgah Forest Plunge Pools

If you havent figured it out yet...I got a new camera. So at least untill the novelty wears off I will probably continue to pepper and clog the board with pictures of fish, water, and flys. Be paintent and humor me and soon enough Ill get it out of my system.

Headed up a stream on Friday I had seen before but had not fished and wound up with a grand slam and some decent fish. Water was low but still plenty cold and the numbers of fish were incredible.

some how the flash didnt work on this one but I like how it came out with the bright greens standing out. Im still figuring this thing out.

a good brown

In his environment

another good brown

Picked up quite a few of these little bows and some a little better

then a few of these

They werent up higher but in the same areas with the browns and bows.

One more cast

A good day and plan to head back soon.
Take Care,
Riparian

Nice fish, Rip. It seems like you've just about got Pisgah covered. Slowly but surely I too am discovering some of its lesser-known gems. Don't you just love exploring new streams!

I ended up getting an Olympus 550WP. Its the bottom of the line Olympus water proof so it only has digital image stabilization instead of dual image stableization, and it only goes down to 10ft instead of 30 ft. Other than that the features are the same as the higher end ones (in other words more than I will ever need or understand) and I found it for $147.00. Anyone who likes the pics, camera, and price can PM and Ill let you know where I found it.

Take Care,
Riparian

I went out and hiked to the high country today, myself. It took a bit of hiking and I got rained on in the middle of the day (which meant very few photos), but it was well worth it. I seriously didn't want to stop, but for the first time ever, the fish wore my arm out.

I was into fish like the one below, from places like the one below all day. Basically, take those two pictures and multiply it by about 75 and you have a good idea of my day.

Looks like a good time, hate you cant make it Thursday. I see from your report that you are using the loop connection now. Are you noticing any difference on the splashy vs takes ratio.
