Saturday Gold

Summer might officially be over, but the fat lady (carp) aint singing yet...in fact they are still pushing mud wakes on your local lakes!

Received a call from my good friend Paul Rose on friday evening seeing if I was free for saturday to test out some new flies. We met up early in the AM and traded some flies and caught up on recent fishing trips. Hit the water around 8 and went off in search of gold. With the recent nights being slighter cooler along with some rain the fish were a bit skeptical about whether or not they wanted to come shallow. However, when the sun hit the water it was on like a free all you can eat buffet. We had tons of GROUPS of feeders plowing mud trails along the flats all morning and well into the afternoon. So it may smell like trout season is here but don't forget about the carolina bones...they're still hungry!

over 11lbs on the boga...on a 5wt

Move stuff around and make some time for it! Sight fishing to moving targets that pull like freight trains.
