Signup Here : SEFFF 2009 River's Way Lodge Dry Fly Contest

Alright, our esteemed Leader and Grand Poohbah, T.E. Shuler, has arranged a
VERY SPECIAL TROUT FISHING OPPORTUNITY
for all of you fly line slingers and hackle wrappers on the South Holston River!
T.E. has made arrangements with
River's Way Lodge
to host the First Place Winner of the SEFFF 2009 River's Way Lodge Dry Fly Contest to a
TWO WEEKNIGHT STAY AND THREE DAYS OF TROUT FISHING
at River's Way Lodge on the South Holston River!!!

Now You ask, just what is River's Way?
So some information for you from their web site :

"River's Way is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to "providing opportunities
for youth of all abilities to grow through outdoor adventure programming." We are located
in northeast Tennessee between Bluff City and Bristol along the banks of the beautiful
South Holston River. Our facility includes 30 acres of riverfront property, challenge courses,
and a wonderful lodge perfect for retreats and get togethers for family and friends.
River's Way was founded in 1993 through the help of the Eleanor T. Reynolds Foundation
in Bristol, TN. Today the Reynolds foundation is still the largest source of funding for our
organization. Donations from organizations and individuals are always needed and
graciously accepted.
For over 15 years, River’s Way has provided opportunities for youth of all abilities
in the Bristol region “to grow through outdoor adventures.”
River’s Way uses outdoor adventures (caving, canoeing, ropes courses, backpacking,
rock climbing) to teach and to motivate youth from disadvantaged backgrounds
and youth with disabilities to achieve successes in school and in their personal lives.
River’s Way serves approximately 1,700 youth per year (60% youth-at-risk,
30% youth with disabilities, 10% other). Our programs integrate outdoor adventures
with goals specifically related to the challenges facing youth in our area:
workforce readiness, academic success and the development of healthy life styles.
River’s Way is located in Bluff City, TN on 30 acres of land along the South Fork of the
Holston River. We have a climbing tower, a high ropes course, a low ropes course
and a lodge on this site.
The South Fork of the Holston River has become one of the South’s premier Rainbow
and Brown trout fisheries. Most of the public access sections are located along an
approximate 10-mile run of the river downstream of the labyrinth weir dams. River’s Way
property is bordered on the north end by the river approximately 3 miles below
the TVA dam and weirs and is blessed with hundreds of feet of private access to
the Holston. The water in the river comes from underneath the dam at
Tennessee Valley Authority’s South Holston Lake and this means the tailwater
is at a constant cold temperature state, perfect habitat for trout!"

For more information about River's Way, you can visit their web site at
http://www.riversway.org/index.php

Looks like a good reason to tie a couple of flies for a great cause. Put me on the list.

I can't tie worth a lick but I will sign up. River's Way is a really great organization and they do wonders with our young people in Tennessee...I see their work first hand all the time and it's very, very impressive.

I'll send 'em $10 for the work they do and maybe tie a fly, but it won't win. I'm a hack.
