Very Nice!
Nothing like a Sneaky Pete attack. I've been tying a crawdad pattern on a dropper below my Pete this past summer, and it looks like they come up to look at the sneaky pete and then eat the crawdad. Many big boils followed by a strike on the dropper. Still waiting for that double hook-up--I know it's coming!

sounds like an idea I may have to try...
this past summer the river smallies around here could not resist firetiger petes, but I also caught some nice ones on crayfish patterns as well...I think this spring I'm going to play around with sinking lines and buoyant patterns..

Very well done. What was the coating/painting sequence for the "pete".

thanks guys,
NCCY the painting sequence was as follows:
first off the heads are made of craft foam in the hipps style..
I tie at least a dozen at a time to make it worthwhile..
once the heads are all formed I coat them with varish and put them on a drying wheel for a few hours.
next I paint the top to bottom fade, which I do using 2 colors of spraypaint. I find rustoleum to be the best as far as opacity and they make some really nice colors as well.(make sure to do this step outside.)
after the spraypaint dries, I paint the stripes and spots using "dimensional fabric paint". once these are dry I apply the eyes again, using "dimensional fabric paint". the eyes come out best when I use 3 different sized dowels dipped in paint and stamped and let each layer dry before applying the next. after the eyes I apply 2 to 4 more coats of varnish and they are done..

hope this helps..

Looking good. I really love to make my own poppers/sliders because you can customize them anyway you want!

cool patterns
