Asking me what my favorite rod company is like asking me what's my favorite Dead show.....They all have their time and place.

TFO for us poor bluegill fishermen.... Broke one or two and they were replaced or repaired fast with no questions asked. Great rods at a great price.

When I first started the fly fishing adventure many years back I was part of all the hype of the high end rods like Sage, Winston and others. They shout modulas, Boron and all these fancy words that people don't fully understand. Since then I have sold off most of those rods with the exception of my Sage SP 905/3 that I rarely even use. I have started building my own rods several years ago from blanks that usually run around $50.00 that I would put up aginst anything out there. Given the fact that the $795.00 rods are nice they don't make you a good caster and they may be 1/2 oz lighter than the next but what does that matter.
Be confident and fish what makes you happy no matter the price.

Most of my rods are Orvis...I've been really impressed with the Helios, Hydros, and Clearwater II rods I have. I've got an old Far and Fine that's probably my favorite small fly/ smaller water rod.

I'm really suprised Redington wasn't higher. I've had my redfly for quite awhile now and I've tried Orvis Helio rods and many others. For the price I still like the Redington better.

I did try a Scott rod on a guided trip, I liked it a lot. Maybe I just can't handle the slower action rods.
