Beetle,
If it is the truck that I am thinking of it is a little Chevy S10.

Busted!

I saw the guy get busted on Sunday. I had just finished taking my gear off when the Game Warden drove across the bridge, and since I'd never seen one at that location before I thought I'd take my time and see where he was going. I bet someone reported them (there were two people that he talked to) because he walked past a couple of people fly fishing and went straight to the bait guys on the far side of the grates. I thought he was going to check everyone that was still fishing there but he didn't. I also noticed TVA Police frequented the area more often than normal. I usually only see them once a weekend, maybe. This weekend, two time per day on Saturday and Sunday.

Now, let's just hope the local District Attorney & Judge does their jobs too! The Wildlife Officer done his job, now it's their turn!

Matt
Probably so if it is white and kind of beat-up. Is that really a TVA truck?

One of the Bristol TV channels did a segment on the vehicle losses on their nightly news broadcast. There was footage of the fish grate parking lot, an interview with a locksmith and an interview with a Sheriff's department officer. This segment will more than likely air over the next few days.

Bottom line....the Sheriff's department believes that the thieves are cutting keyes after obtaining VIN numbers from the dashboard. They apparently have a computer program that provides the key code after the vin number is entered in their computer. They suggest that we cover up our vin numbers with a strip of tape. Mine has been taped up since the last theft occurred. I suggest you do the same if you're headed up this way.

GOOD !! (but we have had good newspaper and TV publicity before and it apparently had short term effects, - - - - - sadly.) At any rate, being in the news is better than not.

I predict beefed up patrols for a short while, then back to same old routine.

Good news about the poachers being busted but bad about the car theft. I guess that is the good thing about driving a older vehicle! I just worry about my fishing stuff at times. I try not to carry alot of unused stuff but sometimes it is necessary. I wish they would catch these crooks and throw the book at them.
