Tank Bag question

Does a tank bag get in your way at all? I've been wanting one, they seem to be a good way of carrying smaller stuff, but am concered it will interfere with steering my bike.

I wanted a tail bag, and everyone I have looked at won;t work. My bike has an undertail exhaust so that's out of the questions for me apparantly.

I got the Cortech mini magnetic tank bag which works great for me. If it was a couple inches taller it would start getting in the way of reading the instrument panel. I bought it from the local Cycle Gear store and they let me take it outside and try it before I bought it. It holds about 40% of what my Cortech sport tail bag will hold and only 16% of what my Fieldsheer expander tail bag holds.

That tank bag will be nice, but it might rub that pretty red paint!! My friend filled his half full of foam, then used the rest for his rain gear. It worked well but he didn't mind the scuffs. His had magnetic flaps to hold it down on the sides.

Thanks for the link David. I'll check that one out.

Are the tank bags bad to scratch your paint?

As long as the tank and bottom of the bag are clean (no grit) when you put the bag on it should not be a problem.

BTW, it doesn't show the capacity in that link but it is 7.5 liters.

That works for me then. I wash my bike every week, sometimes twice a week if I get caught int the rain. I keep it very clean. That's sad too, cause I've washed the Hummer probably 10 times since I bought it, and that was in 2003!! LOL! My wife always has something to say to that effect too.

That's a lot of space. I'll look into that one!
