There's been a decent amount of rain this week in the form of afternoon storms. There was quite a bit of rain last night into this morning. Most of the streams were pretty high today. Little River and West Prong of the Little Pigeon were nearly blown out. Had more to do with dirty water than high water, although the water was certainly on the high. It should fall out by tomorrow and stay at a pretty good level for a few days. Not much rain in the forecast over the next week, so the ideal conditions might only be temporary.
Deep Creek was looking good today. The Oconoluftee was a little dirty down low, but looked fantastic above Collins Creek.
I agree conditions are at the best they have been all summer, but I too wonder for how long.
went yesterday............water was in better shape than I have seen it in a while. Don't know how it was on your side of the mother mountain, but over here yellow sallies are doing well as long as you are in stealth mode. Had a nice bend in the old boo by a brown that sipped as gentle as a baby.
