Took my daughter

to South Mountain State park for 4 days of camping, fishin, and horseback riding. We had a blast! It was the first time she's got to camp with just me, and it was awesome! We had the best time just us. we fished some, rode everyday and ate like Kings (and princesses).I've had my son out with me since he was born, but he went to the beach ( with a pocketful of MY money!) and I figured one night and she'l want to come home. It ended up being 3 nights and 4 full days and if we had'nt run out of food and hay for the horses, we'd have stayed another night. Kids are great. They just grow up too soon! I think she'll remember this forever, I know I will. OhI almost forgot, there was even some fish left! Surprised the **** outa me. Water was at a good (not great) level and we caught several in the afternoons, mostly on olive woolly buggers. I think I've got me a new fishin partner.

Now that right there is just awesome!

I have 3 daughters so I can relate. If you ever see a guy rowing with a pretty young girl on the front of a ODC 1220, that'll be us!

Sounds like you got yourself a "Daddy's girl" for sure . It's something else (ain't it) knowing you're building fond memories of time spent in her mind. I never thought in a million years I'd join this club (fatherhood) but It's just hands down the best club I've ever belonged to.
Way to go, Dad.

That's awesome. I take my girls fishing with me all the time. I don't have any boys so I have made a point to get them hooked. Glad it turned out to be a great trip!

Is it car camping there. I looked at the website and couldn't tell how if it was or if you have to carry your gear.

Sounds like the best camping trip I could imagine.

I take my daughter camping and fishing very often, and it makes me proud that she enjoys the same activities that I do. She is 13 years old now, and has been active in outdoor pursuits her entire life.

Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy.

Yea, you can pull right into the camping area. I was in the horse camp, it's a little different in there. The camping area is right beside the DH waters. It's primative camping, no showers, but it's good camping. Yea my girl is 13 ( well almost) too. She likes doing stuff with Dad (for now). I've got a small cabin up near Hampton, and we're going up there this weekend.
Redman, what part of Maryland are you in?
