Topsail over Thanksgiving

Howdy,

I'm going to be at Topsail Beach the week of Thanksgiving. I've been there the last couple of years without a running boat and have had no luck wading, but I have a boat ready for this year. Is it still worth fishing the creeks this time of year? I have a pretty small boat, so oceanside is not an option. I'm willing to travel an hour or two to find better spots, and if anybody else is going to be around at the same time they are welcome to tag along.

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

I think you may be quite a bit farther south than me. This topsail is in NC just north of Wilmington.

hit or miss

It will depend on the weather we get between now and then.
Right now, the blues have been thick just about everywhere I go. The specks are biting pretty decent in the New River and and the creek mouths in the river.
I would check ncangler.com in 10 days or so and see how well people are doing.

I have spent a little time in north Topsail, alligator bay area. If that is the area you are lookin at than you can pm me. Otherwise the same applies as in Wilmington. The trout should still be inside with some blues.

what kind/style of boat?

Yep hit the creeks and don't forget the waterway proper along the banks.

It's a 14' v-hull jon boat. Pretty tippy, but it floats.
