Prayer is like that! It's never too late to be baptized and talk to God! He understands that we are weak. I am like you, I attend church most Sundays, but often dont hear the sermon. I think about fishing or what's for lunch and that type of thing. I do have very strong beliefs in my God! And I do believe that he hears us and is with us and uses bad things to bring us closer to him. I found this out going through this with my wife. He also cures. It may be a long road, but it can happen. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and remember to take care of yourself as well. Sometimes it's harder being the provider than the pateint. Cindy did'nt remember much of her ordel, but I remember every second. Take care and God bless. If you ever need a shoulder, I'll PM my cell number. Sometimes it helps to take to people that have been thru it.

There are people who've warmed a pew for decades who haven't gotten close to Him. There's a big difference between religion & relationship. Lean on Him- there's no better rock, and it's just what He wants.
Btw, my "lightning bolt moment" didn't happen in a church, but hanging off a cliff over a trout stream.

Lauri...you make me feel good about people
Donnie...I could'nt tell ya when the last time I was in a church...and I may not pray every day....but God knows whats on your mind and in your heart...theres no reason for you to feel guilty what-so-ever ....He's there for ya when you need him....trust me! Most folks would'nt consider me "religeous" and I guess I would'nt either....I'm just what he created.

I don't often post in this forum, but I feel compelled to here. Add another to the list of prayers going up for you.
As far as the "rainy day Christian" thing goes, imagine that one of your kids grows up and decides that he doesn't need your advice, help, and support. Three or four years later, he shows up and says "my life's gone to **** and I need some help." I imagine you'd give him a big hug and ask what he needs, right? I think the same thing applies here.

You just hang in there pal. I'll be praying for all of you. I know you must have the weight of the world on your shoulders right now and I admire you for standing up to the task.
"rainy day Christian"? Who isn't one?

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. You have a lot of postive mojo coming from the board members. Use it to be strong and keep the positive thoughts coming through the tough times. Be there for your children as they will need your strength.

Be strong Donnie, God doesnt put more than we can handle on our table....it may seem didfficult at times and even impossible, but lean on him.....he wants you too! We are all God's children, he loves us all and wants us to lean on him when in trouble or hurting. God is a Great & Our Only God! Trust in him and believe. My prayers go out for you, your wife, and children.
