Anybody fishing the park this weekend? I'll probably fish a North/Central Westslope stream or two this weekend, haven't decided where yet though.

Hey, FT sorry I didn't give you a ring. Did you end up going Saturday? I didn't get on here once I left work on Friday afternoon. I ended up heading out to Great Falls on Saturday to check them out with the water up and they were pretty awesome. I ended up fishing a Northern, West slope stream on Sunday afternoon. Fishing was slow going till the sun started fading away, then from about 7:45-8:30 the action was red hot. Only caught one fish bigger than 4" on top, the rest were caught while stripping a small black wooly bugger. All in all a good day at the park, except when I buried a lightning bug fly in my finger, but after a few tedious minutes with the forceps I was back to fishing. Also saw a couple guys that looked like they had hiked in, camped, and fished. These fellows looked similar to the ones with their picures under the "Most Rugged Stream in the Park" thread, was that you guys?

I didn't make it out any over the weekend. Glad you caught a few. Maybe we can get together sometime.

NAtureboy, yep that was us. We did camp in there that weekend. Water was too high friday, but perfect on saturday. Lord knows how many we got, but I had a fish on my line pretty much every cast, all day long. I lost count after 4 dozen, and the action was red hot all afternoon and most of the evening. The fish were large on average, and they all hit caddis dries very well. I went through 5 flies because them dumb broookies chewed em all up. It was unreal. Sunday was a little slower as we werent on the best water and the creek was super low allready. As JT says, it was downright perveted. Heck, I caught when when I was reeling in my fly he latched on and hooked himself. DUUUUHHHHH. Them trout sure are special.

Glad you all had a good urn in there over the weekend, figured it would be good after the rains and had planned on fishing but it didn't work out ..... glad you all were able to enjoy the weekend on the stream.

Yeah the water was definately low on Sunday and about 67 degrees when we started. I was suprised the water went down so fast, I guess that goes to show how dry the ground was till last weekend. Cowboy, glad yall had a good weekend in there camping and fishing. FT, we'll have to get together and fish a little bit sometime, maybe when we get a little more rain or when the big rivers clear up a little bit, either or.
