Pansyman is correct about the quality of the original Dreamland -- outstanding. However, being a former citizen of Alabama, we called that "ribs." (You might also want to try Mustang Oil, in Greensboro, AL, assuming it is still there). BBQ is a noun, referring to slow cooked pulled pork in its highest form of art.

And one more...

I'm pretty fond of Carolina BBQ in Statesville. Just about about mile off I-77 at exit 50. Tim...I believe you frequent that establishment...what's your take.

I'd also have to throw in Duncan's BBQ in Chimney Rock. I used to spend a lot of time in that area. Man I love me some BBQ. I can't read anymore..... drool is running down my chin. Here's another question: vinegar, mustard, or tomato based? Spicy tomato for me. -Knox

Bridge's in Shelby is pretty good...though I have had better elsewhere. That Snook's that Wilhelm pointed out looks interesting.

If you're partial to east Carolina BBQ you can't beat Maurice's Piggy Park in Columbia, SC. The mustard based golden sauce is so good I have them ship me a case when I run out--Larry
