I was up there today and busted them pretty good. They have it stocked up pretty well. I caught doubles for the first time today that was a trip.

Wilson's is much bigger and deeper than I remember from years ago and seems to be much more accessible. I assume, due to removal of camps and clearing of brush etc. (but that could just be my memory which at times is questionable)

Certainly worth more trips to really get familiar with the stream etc.

Has anybody done any fishing in the gorge section in the fall?

I've fished the gorge section several times in the past few years. went back in May of 2007 and caught close to 12 fish(8"-14")on spinning tackle, but that was two days after a stocking. The past two years(also in May), tried both fly and spinning tackle with miminal success. Didn't catch any one trip, then went back and caught one 10 inch brown. Maybe the fish were just drained out, I dont know. I've always thought that water to be difficult to fish due to water depth and speed, and near impossible to wade.

I dont reccomend that strech of water, I think your better off farther upstream.

caught this little smallie in the gorge in july. that same day we saw some good size fish in a deep pool that got hit in the face with many different nymphs repeatedly. had a few streamers cross their paths too. may have been suckers. anybody know how to tell a sucker from a trout 4 feet underwater?
