Sure why not. We have none of the right gear, heavy tents, backpacks so small they couldn't hold all of our textbooks in highschool and we smoke a pack a day. Sure lets go backpacking.
We do have flies, rods, reels and a general idea of how to catch some trout. Plus we share the same appreciation of eating beanie weenies within earshot of a little creek located in the closest thing you could call "wilderness" in North Carolina.
We managed to forget our trail map, tentstakes and a can opener.
We did find the campsite, used rope to hold our tent up and found rocks that could be hit with bigger rocks in order to open cans.
Cant think of a better way to spend a few days
where we went
some of our makeshift gear (thats a trashbag full of stuff that needs waterproofing)
cool little creek
made a wrong turn and ended up here
we finally found camp and got to do some fishing. Wasn't bad wasn't fantastic but we caught fish and some reaching impressive sizes. Left the camera in camp for the most part.
But caught some of these
and some of these
lost some trouts outta here
no better way to kill time
we'll definately be headin in again. hopefully better prepared next time
