Favorite Line Co

I have to go with AT&T and the corresponding Bell operating companies. Not always the most competive but ...........

"What?"
"Oh. Not that kind of line."

Sorry.

I voted SA, but I think I have used them all.

All pretty good

Like a lot of folks, I've used all (except Orvis). And, I've liked almost all of them really well. It's interesting how the popularity seems to swing from one brand and line to another. For a year or two, the SA GPX was very popular. Then the Rio Grande. Then had a good bit of interest in the Cortland Lazer lines and the Tropic Plus with the ghost tip and Little Tunny lines...and in the last couple of years the Cortland Precision Dyna Tip and Rio Gold and Selective Trout. etc. etc. More recently folks are liking the Airflow lines and the SA Sharkskin, and the Wulff Triangle Taper lines have been popular and that's what I'm using on my Bass and Trout rods. The Wulff Nymph and Indicator line in an 8 wt is definitely my favorite for a smallmouth line.

Most of my line are Rio. I do have some Scientific Angler, and some Jim Teeny as well. I voted Rio since that is mainly what I fish. I would really like to try the Airflo. I am particularly interested in how the Airflo running line casts. I have not been happy with my Rio Slick Shooter line.

I prefer the SA lines but only slightly. They seem just a bit more supple to me than the RIO brand. But I tend to even like the cheaper lines. In general most all fly lines I've used are more than adequate. But that wasn't the case 15 years ago. Back then there were some truly awful lines out there.

I use mostly Rio stuff, sometimes Orvis but it seems like I can keep the Rio floating longer. I don't really put much care into the lines so I'm sure thats part of the problem with the Orvis lines.

I like the Teeny sink tip cause I've caught my biggest fish on it. I like the Rio for my floaters 'til I used the shark skin. Like the turbo sound it makes when shooting! Better have a leather finger guard though-it'll have ya bleeding after a day of stripping.
